Drown your holiday spirit this Saturday, Dec. 15.
Early risers: drag yourself out of bed early and join Santacon at 10 a.m. for drinks and breakfast at Christopher Martins in New Haven.
Then, if you’re still ambulatory, meet the New Haven Hash House Harriers at noon at Christy’s on Orange, 261 Orange St. for some pre-lube. The pack will leave at 12:30.
Trail is A-to-A through downtown New Haven. Not much shiggy, but two beer stops, plus on-in. No more than 5 miles, probably much less, we’ll just run around in circles downtown till it’s time to hit the next pub.
Dress accordingly – Santa, Santa, and more Santa – or his elves or reindeer or snowman. You get the idea.
Our friends in Bethel write …
Virgin terrain, a plethora of ancient stone structures, deer, turkey, elves — what more could you want? The usual assortment of trails – not too long, and not too short.
START TIME: 2:30 pm on Saturday December 8, 2012
START PLACE: Oxford Glen – 454 Roosevelt Drive in Oxford, CT. (That is Route
34, less than 2 miles southeast of the Lake Zoar dam.)
ON-IN: Cugino’s Pizzeria (which welcomes you to Bring Your Own Beer!!!) at 179 Roosevelt Dr, Seymour, CT (about a mile from the start)
Hare will bring some beer, in case you forget. Bring hash cash for food.
Since the weather has turned colder, many (not all, I don’t mean you), New Haven Hashers have gone into hibernation for the winter. The powers that be (what they be, we’re not sure), have decided to switch to a once a month schedule for the winter.
Anyone who would like to set trail any other date is of course welcome, as long as it doesn’t suck. That said, our next scheduled date is Dec. 8th, but we’re going to move that to Dec. 15th to coincide with New Haven’s Santa Con Pub crawl.
Trail will be in New Haven, duh, trail will start much earlier than usual, somewhere around noon, and we ask that you wear a Santa costume, an elf or snowman or Snow Miser costume – use your imagination – or at least a darn hat – I’ll bring extras. Hash cash 8 bucks, multiple beer checks, lots o’ Santas.
Anyone who wants to hare in January or February, leave a message here.
Be on the lookout for details on next year’s HASHMAT Hash – always a great time!
